Dr.
David Lewis is the founder and Medical Director for the ASAP
Family Treatment Programs in Sherman Oaks, California. He
is responsible for directing all of its seven hospitals and
related chemical dependency programs. He also serves as President
of the medical staff at Anacapa Adventist Hospital.
"Dr. Dave"
is an acknowledged expert in the field of drug abuse, and
works closely with government, business and non-profit organizations
to educate people on the dangers of substance abuse. He is
a Presidential appointee of the White House Conference for
a Drug-Free America, and also a member of the National Consensus
Conference on Anabolic Steroids. |

Dr. Lewis
has also created and implemented a training program for mid-level
managers for numerous Fortune 500 companies, teaching them to deal
with substance abuse in the workplace. He has considerable experience
dealing with the special problems of celebrities and has implemented
several national promotions for drug abuse prevention. He initiated
and organized the Moscow Music Peace Festival. and has served as
technical advisor for features such as the full-length movie, "Clean
and Sober," the television features "What's Wrong with Wilma," and
"The CBS Afterschool Special." Dr. Lewis has also been a national
spokesperson against the legalization of drugs.
Dr. Lewis received
his B.A. from the University of Missouri in 1969, and his M.D. from
the University of Colorado in 1973. In 1976, he served as Chief
Resident, Psychiatry at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center. Dr.
Lewis currently serves as Clinical Professor in the depart-ment
of Psychology at UCLA. He has also acted as part of the medical
staff for the Denver Broncos football team, and as the Chief of
the Department of Mental Health and the Medical Supervisor of the
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Committee at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
