The ASAP Family
was founded over twenty years ago by Dr.
David Lewis. Since then the ASAP Family has been dedicated
to serving the Southern California community with quality chemical
dependency treatment and mental health programs, as well as educational
and preventative programs.
The treatment
philosophy of the ASAP Family has remained firm throughout its twenty
years. Chemical Dependency is a problem not only in the individual,
but is a problem of the whole family. Treatment integrates emotional/physical
individual therapy with family and multi-family treatment and activities.
In-hospital
and residential, out-patient, and days-only treatment is available
for children, youth and adults who are suffering from chemical dependency
and emotional disorder on a referral basis. The
ASAP Family also believes a continuing system of support is integral
to the recovery process. Through meetings and by phone, ASAP counselors
and friends are available to offer words of comfort, support and
encouragement.
The ASAP Family
also takes an active part in the community, believing that the best
way to fight substance abuse and other emotional disorder is through
education and prevention. ASAP
provides educational programs and professional counseling for school
officials, parents and students, for juvenile justice personnel
and chemical dependency counselors and others. Through homes, schools
and community events, ASAP is able to train people in:
- Identification
of drugs
- Identification
of the addict
- Co-dependency
- Dual
diagnosis and the treatment of associated emotional disorders
|
- Drugs
and the law
- Suicide
prevention
- Overcoming
grief
- Adolescent
substance abuse
problems
